Benchmark Exceedance Investigations

Some facilities are required to test the storm water runoff for certain benchmark parameters biannually. These parameters are different amongst different facilities based on Standard Industrial Classification or SIC code. Occasionally facilities exceed the limits of the permit in their analytical data. As required by the Storm Water Permit, a Benchmark Investigation must be conducted and a Report of Findings and Recommendations must be added to the facility’s Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan usually within a certain time frame after becoming aware of the exceedance.
