Chemical Security Assessment Tool

On October 6, 2006, President Bush signed the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act of 2007, which provides the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with the authority to regulate the security of high-risk chemical facilities.  Furthermore, The Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS; 6 CFR part 27) was published April 9, 2007.  EcoServe Environmental Consulting Corp. can determine initial applicability and assist with registration for the Chemical Security Assessment Tool.  After registration, EcoServe will complete and submit a CSAT Top-Screen, which will enable the DHS to make a preliminary security risk determination for the facility.  Then based upon the Tier Risk Classification given by the DHS, EcoServe can design and implement Security Vulnerability Assessments and Site Security Plans if required by DHS after submittal of Top-Screen.
